“聊了个寂寞”，英语怎么说？

首先我们要说一下，不只是“聊了个寂寞”，也有很多“……了个寂寞”。

这个算是个大类，在英语中我认为有一个比较合适的说法叫作“In vain”，意思就是“徒劳，白费力气”。比如， 聊了个寂寞

-We talked for hours, but it turns out to be all in vain.

-我们聊了好几个小时，但是聊了个寂寞。

-He didn't remember anything.

-他啥也没记住。

| 再比如，“学了个寂寞‍”

-I studied for hours. It was all in vain. I didn't remember anything.

-我学了好几个小时，学了个寂寞，啥也没记住。

| 然后是关于，“花钱花了个寂寞”‍

“Money down the drain”，这个说法比较局限了。“Money down the drain”的意思就是“钱白花了，浪费了”。比如，

-My degree in literature is just money down the drain. It's couldn't get me a job.

-我的文学学士学位白花钱学了，很难找到工作。

| 最后是，“聊天聊了个寂寞”‍

可以用“In one ear and out the other. ”就是“左耳进，右耳出”的意思，也可以表示“聊了个寂寞”。比如，

-Whatever I tell her is in one ear and out the other.

-我跟她说什么都是说了个寂寞。

就是说，跟她聊天总是聊了个寂寞，她啥也记不住，总是左耳朵进右耳朵出。
