一、课文原文
Lesson 30 Football or polo?
The Wayne is a small river that cuts across the park near my home. I like sitting by the Wayne on fine afternoons. It was warm last Sunday, so I went and sat on the river bank as usual. Some children were playing games on the bank and there were some people rowing on the river. Suddenly, one of the children kicked a ball very hard and it went towards a passing boat. Some people on the bank called out to the man in the boat, but he did not hear them. The ball struck him so hard that he nearly fell into the water. I turned to look at the children, but there weren't any in sight: they had all run away! The man laughed when he realized what had happened. He called out to the children and threw the ball back to the bank.

二、重点句型或语法
在第6课里，我们已经对冠词的使用进行了归纳和总结。在本课的关键句型中，对冠词的用法有了新的补充。
通常在人名和地名前部加冠词，如：
John Smith lives in England.
Beijing is the capital of China.
在海洋、河流、山脉和部分国家名前要加定冠词the，而且首字母要大写，如：
the Alps 阿尔卑斯山
the United States of America 美国
Who was the first person to sail across the Pacific?
如果高山湖泊的英文以Mt.或Lake开头，就不需要再加the，如：
Lake Michigan 密歇根湖
Mt. Everest 珠穆朗玛峰
