【每日一练】next to nothing
…is very cheap.
next to nothing
这个习语的意思相当于“almost nothing(几乎没有)”或“a very small amount(非常小的数额)”,后一个意思通常指“a very small amount of money”,所以用于指某样东西非常的便宜,“几乎没花什么钱”。
It’s been very useful and cost me next to nothing.
It was so cheap that it cost almost next to nothing.
He has got next to nothing to spend.
Phil earns next to nothing.
Let’s go to Thailand. Tickets cost next to nothing this time of the year.
I've had next to nothing to eat.
I know next to nothing about plants.
Now it's your time to open your mouth and practice!
Have fun learning English!
