二、重要句型或语法1、句子种类本课主要复习第1课、第25课和第49课所学的句子种类,即:简单句、并列句和复合句。如:The climber reached the top of the mountain. They spent the night there. vs. The climbers not only reached the top of the mountain, but spent the night there as well.The children play truant from school. 三、课文主要语言点Children who play truant from school are unimaginative.1)who引导的是定语从句,修饰先行词children。 2)注意children虽然被定语从句修饰,但因为是泛指,所以没有加任何修饰语。 3)play truant from school,逃学。也可以简单表达为play truant。注意truant表示“逃学的孩子”。 4)unimaginative,没有想象力的。源自动词imagine(想象)。A quiet day's fishing, or eight hours in a cinema watching the same film over and over again, is usually as far as they get.1)注意从泛读角度来看,or引导的成分可以跳过,因为or表示并列选择关系,而且前后还被逗号隔开,说明该成分主要起着补充说明作用,可要可不要。 2)watching引导的短语作为伴随状语,补充说明待在电影院里所做的事情。 3)over and over again,一遍又一遍。 4)as far as they get,他们顶多到这种程度而已。这里的as far as...是引申义,意为“到...程度”。They have all been put to shame by a boy who, while playing truant, travelled 1.600 miles.1)put...to shame,使...感到羞愧、使...相形见绌。 2)while playing truant前后被逗号隔开,作为插入语,起着补充说明作用,交代travel发生的时间背景。 3)注意“travel+距离”就表示走过多远距离。注意travelled在美语里的拼写里只有一个l。He hitchhiked to Dover and, towards evening, went into a boat to find somewhere to sleep.1)hitchhike,搭便车旅行。hitchhike to,搭便车到某地。 2)towards evening,临近天黑。 3)find somewhere to sleep,找个地方睡觉。When he woke up next morning, he discovered that the boat had, in the meantime, travelled to Calais.1)discover,发现。该词由否定前缀dis-和cover(覆盖)组成。注意发音时,c要浊化为[g]。 2)in the meantime,与此同时。No one noticed the boy as he crept off. From there, he hitchhiked to Paris in a lorry.1)creep off,爬出来。 2)注意from there中的there是指Calais。 3)lorry,卡车。美式英语的表达为truck。The next car the boy stopped did not take him to the centre of Paris as he hoped it would, but to Perpignan on the French-Spanish border.1)注意the boy stopped是定语从句,修饰先行词the next car,中间省略了关系代词that或which。 2)take sb. to,把某人带到某地。 3)as引导的是方式状语从句,而该从句中又含了一个宾语从句it would,it前省略了连接代词that。 4)注意整句话是由“not..., but...”引导的并列句。 5)on....border,在...的边界上。There he was picked up by a policeman and sent back to England by the local authorities.1)注意句首的there是指the French-Spanish border。 2)pick up,发现。 3)send sb. back to,把某人送回某地。 4)the local authorities,当局、当地政府部门。He has surely set up a record for the thousands of children who dream of evading school.1)surely,肯定地。 2)thousands of,成千上万。注意前面不能加具体数字。 3)dream of,梦想。 4)evade,逃避。evade school,逃学。

四、读写重点可利用教材第343页Composition(作文)中的练习,操练如何连词成句。

五、语用文化课让学生分享自己的逃学故事或者身边的逃学故事,并且讨论自己对逃学的看法。

六、教学建议1、整个第四单元是对前面三个单元所有内容的总复习,建议老师要就第四单元中每个重要的句型或语法点,事先把前面三个单元的相关内容做一个系统的梳理,以便在第四单元中的每一课教学中,做好一次性地总结复习。2、本课复习了从句子结构角度分的三种句子种类,可考虑介绍从句子功能角度和句子篇幅角度介绍其他的句子种类及其用法。
