Poverty is a big problen around the world.But China has done a good job of dealing with it and it has found its own way to fight poverty.Instead of just giving money to poor people,it has tried to educate people and give them the tools tyey need to lift themselves out of poverty.Ordinary people play a big role in the fight.Here are two of them.
贫困是世界各地的一个大问题。但中国在应对这一问题上做得很好，找到了自己的方法来对抗贫困。它不是仅仅把钱给穷人，而是试着教育人们，给他们帮助他们摆脱贫困所需要的工具。普通人在这场斗争中扮演了重要角色。这里是其中的两个。
Zhang Guimei has been lelping girls pursue education since she traveled to Yunnan at the age of 17.As a teacher,Zhang was heartbroken when she saw her students quit school after finishing senior high school.They couldn't go to college because their families couldn't afford it.So in 2008,Zhang started a free school for poor girls.Since then,Zhang has been busy asking for donations to provide money for the school.She has convinced parents to send their daughters back to school.The school has sent more than 1,800 students to universities and colleges.
张桂梅17岁去云南后，就一直在帮助女孩接受教育。作为一名教师，当看到自己的学生在高中毕业后退学时，张老师感到很伤心。他们不能上大学，因为他们的家庭负担不起。因此，2008年，张创办了一所贫困女孩免费学校。从那时起，张就一直忙着为学校募捐。她说服了父母们把女儿送回学校。该校已经向大学和学院输送了1800多名学生。
When Mao Xianglin started to work as the Party secretary of his village,there
was only one pathway out of the village for many years.He led more than 100
villagers to build a road with their hands.It took them seven years to build an
eight-kilometer road.Mao then encouraged the villagers to grow oranges.Last
year,their orange yield was nearly 40tons.Young people have returned to the
village to sell oranges online.By the end of 2019,269 villagers had been lifted out
of poverty.The per capita income reached 12,670 yuan,40 times more than in the 1990s.
毛祥林开始当村支书的时候,多年来出村都只有一条通道。他带领了一百多位村民们用自己的双手筑了一条路。他们花了七年时间建了一条8公里长的道路。毛鼓励村民们种橘子。去年一年，他们的橙子产量接近40吨。年轻人已经回到了村里子在网上卖橘。截至2019年，已有269名村民脱离了贫困。人均收入达到12670元，是上世纪90年代的40倍。
Over the last eight years,98.99 million rural people have lifted
out of poverty.The 832 countries and 128,000 villages which these people live in are no longer in poverty.China is responsible for reducing 70 percent of poverty worldwide since the late 1970s.
8年来，有9899万农村人口摆脱了贫困。这些人居住的832个县和128000个村庄已不再贫穷。自上世纪70年代末以来，中国负责任的引领人民提高生活水平，减少了全球70%的贫困人口。

After traveling more than seven months in space,Tianwen 1 is
one step closer to Mars!Tianwen 1,China's first Mars probe,successfully entered Mars orbit in February,according to the China National Space Administration(CNSA).It will stay in orbit for about three months before landing on the red planet.
在太空中旅行了7个多月后，天问1号离火星又近了一步!据中国国家航天局(CNSA)称，中国首个火星探测器“天问一号”于今年2月成功进入火星轨道。在登陆火星之前，它将在轨道上停留大约三个月。
A small step on the red planet will be a big step for human beings.Humans have launched 46 Mars exploration missions since October 1960,but only 19 of them have been successful,according to China Daily.It's China's first spacecraft to Mars,and the missions are rather ambitious.Tianwen 1 aims to achieve "orbiting,landing,and roving"all in one journey,which will make the country the world's first to achieve all three goals with one probe,mission scientists said.
在这颗红色星球上的一小步将是人类的一大步。自1960年10月以来，人类已经发射了46次火星探测任务，但只有19次成功，据中国日报报道。这是中国首个火星探测器，也被寄予了厚望。科学家们表示，天问1号的目标是在一次飞行中实现“环绕、着陆、巡视”，这将使中国成为世界上第一个用一个探测器同时实现三个目标的国家。
Among the three tasks,touchdown on the red planet is the
most difficult.The result mainly depends on the "breakthtaking seven minutes " to make sure Tianwen 1 land safely,according to the Global Times.
在三项任务中，着陆火星是最困难的。据《环球时报》报道，这一结果主要取决于确保天文1号安全着陆的“惊人的七分钟”。
February was Mars month.NASA's Perseverance Rover landed on Mars on Feb 19,and China's Tianwen 1 and United Arab Emirates' Hope Probe have arrived within orbit of the red planet.Although the three countries started their Mars journeys at almost the same time,their missions vary.Hope Probe successfully entered the orbit of Mars on Feb 9.Perseverance will collect samples of rock and soil for further research.Tianwen 1's ultimate goal is to land a rover on Mars in May or June,and it will carry out scientific research on Mars'soil, environment, water and so on.
二月是火星月。2月19日，美国宇航局的“毅力”号火星车登陆火星，中国的“天问一号”和阿拉伯联合酋长国的“希望号”探测器已抵达火星轨道。虽然这三个国家几乎同时开始了他们的火星之旅，但他们的任务各不相同。2月9日，“希望号”探测器成功进入火星轨道。毅力将收集岩石和土壤的样本，为进一步的研究。天文1号的最终目标是在5月或6月将探测器登陆火星，并将对火星的土壤、环境、水等进行科学研究。
"When we step into the far planets of the solar system,the magnitude of the resources and timeline required will take global action," a US official said, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in space.
