在英国、美国，Little Golden Books（小金书）可以说是鼎鼎大名、家喻户晓的童书品牌，从1942年开始出版至今，近70年的悠久历史，小金书的无数经典作品，短小明快、图文并茂，给一代又一代的英美儿童带来了阅读的乐趣。我们一起来看看小金书自己的介绍：

When Little Golden Books were first published in 1942, high-quality books for children hadn’t been available at a price most people could afford. Little Golden Books changed that! Priced at just 25 cents and sold where people shopped every day, they caused an instant sensation and were soon purchased by the hundreds of thousands. Created by such talented writers as Margaret Wise Brown (author of Goodnight Moon) and Richard Scarry, Little Golden Books have helped millions of children develop a lifelong love of reading.

小金书，基本上是以图为主，适量配有文字，但和现在大行其道的绘本并不一样，小金书的重点还是经典儿童故事的配图改编为主，而不是以图、以新创作的寓言型故事为主。

当然这本故事到此并没有结束，因为这本书总共28页，这里因为篇幅所限，只能放前11页。不过，即便只看这一小部分，我们也不难发现，这套书配图非常精美，故事也很生动、紧凑。虽然并非二十一世纪的新作，我们也能看到，作品的配图风格已经非常现代了，肯定能吸引到小朋友的注意力，得到他们的喜爱。

有的朋友可能会说，哎呀，这些书怎么都是1943、1950、1961、1974……这些年份的，为什么不是最新2021的？

关于这一点，我只能说：我们国内的小朋友读的唐诗三百首、三字经，是哪一年创作的？为什么我们还甘之如饴？对于基础阶段的英语学习来说，这实在不是一个问题！

唯独需要特别说明的是这套书的呈现格式。一般来说，电子书都是PDF文件居多，但这套书因为多是图画书、故事书，所以很多都选择了纯图片的方式，放在同一个文件夹下，是为一本书。好在现在大家一般都有完善的图片查看软件、app，这也不是问题。
