每日口语| 吸毒吗？万一上头条呢！

应微信网友蓝天的要求，讲讲“吸毒”的英语相关说法。

毒品的统称叫drugs, 吸毒叫做take drugs或者use drugs, 毒瘾叫做addiction to drugs,比如说，His addiction to drugs propelled him toward a life of crime, 吸毒使他走上了犯罪的道路；

吸毒的人叫drug user或junkie, 比如说，The centers not only failed to provide HIV prevention and treatment to drug users, but also facilitated its spread. 这些中心不仅没有对吸毒者提供艾滋病预防和治疗，还促进其滋长蔓延. Never believe anything David said, cause he is a junkie, you know, junkies always lie!永远别相信David说的任何事，他是个瘾君子，没一句真话！

吸毒成瘾者叫drug abuser, 滥用毒品叫做drug abuse,比如，Drugs make you addicted, which leads you become a drug abuser eventually. 毒品让人上瘾，最终成为瘾君子。

尽管大麻算软毒品，但在西方社会十分流行，大麻源自西班牙殖民地墨西哥，叫做marihuana, 这个说法很学术，大麻比较接地气的名字还有pot和weed, Marihuana is also a harmful drug which makes you addicted, 大麻是另外一种让你上瘾的毒品；

吸毒让人兴奋的状态叫做get somebody high, high这里并不是高兴的意思，比如，Wanna get high? I’ve got some pot and weed in my pocket, 想不想嗨一下？我口袋里有大麻，这通常都是国外毒贩街头贩卖毒品的台词，你可以头也不回地走开。毒贩叫做drug dealer.

除了以上，毒品还有cocaine可卡因，opium鸦片，morphine吗啡，crystal meth冰毒，ketamine K粉末，heroin海洛因，对毒品相关英语感兴趣的朋友，推荐一个值得看的美剧《Breaking Bad》,绝命毒师。
