Examples

1、The quantity ratio of apple to banana is 2: 3. It is also written as 2/3.

苹果和香蕉的个数之比是2: 3，也可以写成2/3.

2、3: 1: 2 is a continued ratio. In it, 3, 1 and 2 are terms of the continued ratio.

3: 1: 2是一个连比，其中3、1、2都是这个连比的项.

3、2: 3=4: 6. In it, 2 and 6 are extremes of the proportion while 3 and 4 are means of the proportion.

2: 3=4: 6，其中2和6叫做比例外项，3和4叫做比例内项。

4、If two means of the proportion are the same, which means a: b=b: c, b is called the middle term of a and c.

如果两个比例内项相同，即a: b=b: c，那么把b叫做a和c的比例中项。
