2016-17年Common App有了这些变化，我觉得你应该知道
Common Application (http://www.commonapp.org)，是一个美国高校以及国际名校通用的申请美国大学的系统平台。这一年，CommonApp不仅在去年的基础上让外观变得更自然、漂亮，还进行了一系列意义重大的改变。今天让小编带大家一起看看今年的新CommonApp申请网站和以往有了什么变化，2021er又有哪些要注意的地方？
众所周知，大学的招生留程常常有改变，用来申请大学的commonapp平台也是如此，截止到现在，commonapp系统还是700多所美国高校中最受欢迎和广泛使用的申请平台，下面我们就来看看commonapp都变了哪些？
通常，CommonApp会在6-7月间清空往年所有申请账户的信息，并把网站关闭一段时间，然后在8月1号重启启动，因此8月1号之前注册的账号都会被清除。而今年新的CommonApp允许学生们去“搬运”并“沿用”这些个人信息：个人档案，家庭信息，教育，标准化考试，活动和文书等（见下图）都会延续到新的账户（8月1日后建立）里面。
当你在8月1日之后登陆之前就创建好的账户后，commonapp会问你是不是想延续之前的个人信息，然后和你确认以下信息👇👇👇。
Your role (current applicant, other student, counselor, parent, etc.)
Your current high school
Your communication opt-in selection
Your acceptance of our Privacy Policy
Your previous My Colleges list
然而以下👇👇👇的信息不会被沿用。
Any information you may have entered for college-specific Questions and Writing Supplements
Your Release Authorization and FERPA selection
Any Recommender invitations, assignments, and forms
PDFs of Common Applications and Writing Supplements submitted the prior year
Responses to any questions that have been removed since the prior year
这种新的规则又叫做Common App Ready，目的是为了让很多早申请的同学，提早着手申请流程，熟悉网申系统。对于一些想早申请（ED, EA, REA）和DIY的同学来说，这可以避免大家到后来因为时间紧迫而手忙脚乱。毕竟，精准、细致、无缺漏地填写CommonApp的各种表格，是一个技术含量大、耗时、耗力的任务。
近期以来，有很多人在关注犯罪记录对美国大学申请的影响，今年Common App平台负责人Blankson表示：“还是会询问学生是否有重罪或者轻罪的纪录，但是不会问及具体罪行，这项问询将不会被改变。”
然而目前很多声音希望Common App平台移除涉及到犯罪记录的相关问题，并且希望大学取消对于有过不端行为的学生的区别对待，美国教育部部长John King把去除犯罪记录相关问题成为“重大的向前一步（an important step forward）”他鼓励美国大学取消涉及到犯罪记录的问题，并称：“那些学生已经还清了欠账，他们值得拥有一个平等的机会去学习，去茁壮的成长。”
随着社会变得越来越开放、包容和进步，CommonApp怎么会落伍呢？在今年的CommonApp系统关于申请者性别的问题中，不但会区分提问生理性别和性别取向，还有个专门的文本栏（Text Box），给你足够的空间来描述自己的性别倾向，来定义自己到底是什么样子。
来700多所成员院校的基础上，今年将会有48个优秀的大学新加入Commonapp的庞大队伍。这些新成员来自美国22个州，以及5个除美国之外的国家。其中有11个属于美国公立学校，26个美国私立校，和11个国际学校。以下是部分新成员的名单：

好消息就是：2016-17的文书题目还是和去年一样，没有变化！五个文书自选题目如下：
1. Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful that they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, please share that story.
2. The lessons we take from failure can be fundamental to later success. Recount an incident or time when you experienced failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?
3. Reflect on a time when you challenged a belief or idea. What prompted you to act? Would you make the same decision again?
4. Describe a problem you’ve solved or a problem you’d like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma-anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution.
5. Discuss an accomplishment or event, formal or informal, that marked your transition from childhood to adulthood within your culture, community, or family.
