I like to think in silence
In bright moonlight
For those who sew clothes
The needle is pointing straight at the shining light
Oh how deep the night is
I have always liked
Utter silence
Living in a state of grace
Waiting for spring to change her clothes
Waiting for the last fall of snow
To quietly take its leave
I like -
What I really like -
Is for loneliness to suddenly turn into revelry
The child in the book
Lights a candle
Illuminating the last page
I like the ideals of children:
Simple, exuberant, verdant, pure
I like the things I like
Deep down an alleyway
Waiting without purpose
Waiting for your own shadow
I come to a tree
We embrace tightly
From now on we must not part

罗曼简介
罗曼 （笔名“海门）斯科特是作家和翻译家。她在欧洲长大，会说多种语言，现在和家人住在澳大利亚。毕业于悉尼大学，三十多年来，她对中国文化产生了极大的尊重和热爱，经常到中国去拜访她的许多艺术家朋友。翻译一些值得注意的中国诗人的作品也是她的一大乐趣和荣幸。
Romaine Scott is a writer and translator. She grew up in Europe, speaking a number of languages and now lives in Australia with her family. A graduate of the University of Sydney, she has, over thirty years, developed a great respect and love for Chinese culture, frequently travelling to China to visit her many artist friends. It has also been her great joy and privilege to translate the work of several notable Chinese poets.
