1 be spoilt for choice 眼花缭乱,选择太多了
e.g. I would say that the range of toys on the market now is far wider than it used to be, so parents are kind of spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing toys for their children.
2 splash out on sth. 大手大脚的花钱买某物
e.g. I guess it depends on what the toy is, because for example, if parents simply splash out on expensive toys without giving much thought to the possible impact of the toys on their child's development, in terms of enjoyment and educational value, then I'd say it's not really a good thing. 我猜这得看是啥玩具了,因为如果父母只是大手大脚地花钱买贵的玩具,完全不想对孩子发展可能的影响,包括娱乐和教育价值方面,那就不是什么好事。
3 squeeze a toy 挤压玩具
e.g. When I squeezed the furry toy, it said I LOVE U. 我挤压这个毛绒绒玩具的时候,它说'我爱你’。
4 be furry ['fɜːrɪ]毛绒绒的
e.g. since then I have been inseparable from this furry friend. 从那时起,我跟这个毛绒绒的朋友形影不离了。
5 educational value 教育价值
e.g. If a toy has educational value, then I'd like to settle it on. 如果一个娃娃有教育价值,那我就会选择它。
