Dialogue 1:

A: We must be crazy! We're an hour and a half early.

B: At least we beat the traffic!

A: Did you drive in?

B: Yes, I'm in a carpool.

A: Great. Then with the money you've saved, you can buy us a cup of coffee.

C: That's just what I was thinking.

B: O.K., but only on one condition.

C: What's that?

B: You guys pay for the doughnuts.

A: (Laughing) It's a deal.

A：我们一定是疯了！竟早到一个半小时。

B：但至少我们避开了交通高峰时间。

A：你开车来吗？

B：是啊，我跟别人拼车来的。

A：太好了！那你省下的车钱正好可以请我们喝杯咖啡。

C：我就是这么想的。

B：没问题，但是我有个条件。

C：什么条件？

B：你们要请我吃甜甜圈。

A：（笑）一言为定！

Dialogue 2:

A: I just can't seem to lose weight.

B: You need more exercise.

A: But I play tennis once a week.

B: Maybe you should start riding your bicycle to work.

C: That's a good idea. Then you'll be getting plenty of exercise five days a week.

A: But it's five kilometers to work!

C: All the better!

B: Yeah, you'll be in great shape in no time.

A：我好像就是瘦不下来。

B：你需要多一点运动。

A：但我已经一星期打一次网球了。

B：或许你该开始骑单车上班。

C：好主意！那样你就可以一星期运动五天。

A：但是到公司有五公里远！

C：那更好！
