首先可以肯定的是没有 accord 就没有 accordance 的今天，但是因为 accordance 的存在，使它与 accord 的用法可能让人捉摸不定。存在就是合理的，它们是有区别的。
一、accord

Accordance 只能作名词，意为“一致，符合”等，是正式用词。在法律的上下文中，用来说明什么符合法律、合同或规则等，不用于可能不真实的信息，主要用于 搭配 in accordance with sth 中，意为“依照，依据”，相当于 in compliance with，例如：In accordance with Article 72 of the Act, employees of the Company have the right to form a representative body.Entries which are not in accordance with the rules will be disqualified.The suspect's statement is not in accordance with the information witnesses have given us.
在日常使用中，经常有人在该用 in accordance with 的地方用了 according to，但它们其实是不一样的，according to 通常用于重述某人告诉你的事情或你在某处听到或看到的事情，主要用于报告，相当于 as stated by；因为可能是道听途说的，所以 according to 引出的信息可能不是真实的，例如：
