简介

萨米尔·扎德（Samir Z. Zard）于1955年出生在尼日利亚共和国。他在贝鲁特美国大学(American University of Beirut)接受化学训练，然后进入伦敦帝国理工学院(Imperial College, London)，最后进入法国巴黎大学(Universitk Paris-Sud)，在教授德里克·巴顿爵士(Sir Derek Barton，1969年诺贝尔化学奖获得者，中国科学院外籍院士)的指导下获得博士学位。1981年，他开始在国家科学研究中心(C.N.R.S.)工作，但与此同时，他仍然是巴顿教授小组的成员，该小组在伊维特的自然物质研究中心工作。
当巴顿教授搬到遥远的德克萨斯农工大学时，扎德在帕拉塞索的综合理工学院做了一份兼职讲师——离Gif只有6公里远。
他的主要研究领域是新反应和新工艺的研究和开发，尤其对自由基、有机硫衍生物、炔和硝基化合物感兴趣。
他已经在国际学术期刊如JACS、Angew、Chem. Rev、Acc. Chem. Res.、Chem. Soc. Rev.等上已发表学术论文357篇，申请专利38项。他获得了一系列的学术奖励和荣誉，其中包括：The 1992 Prize of the Organic Chemistry Division of the French Chemical Society；Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Fellow 2004；Silver Medal CNRS 2007；Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, 2011；1st Barton Lecturer in Creativity in Organic Synthesis (2012-Imperial College)；Honorary Doctorate, American University of Beirut, 2016.
