Fault analysis and treatment report of the Engine Driven C.W. Pump(OIL SUMP TYPE)
Engine type: DAIHUTSU DIESEL ENGINE 8-DK28C
Generator power : 3 sets x 2800kw/set

THE PUMP SECTION
if oil seal loosen from its casing,or the touch area decreased due to the ball bearing couldn't be mounted improperly by engineer, the sleeve will provide a extensible seal surface for prevent oil leakage
About the sleeve installation: put it in hot oil(temp.:120-140℃) before installed as my experience.
oil safety level: as per red line while engine stop. The oil level will be kept in middle of the ball bearing.It's better to drain out the oil in chamber for check the bearing and oil seal's condition every 800-1000 hrs interval.
The engine failure condition as follows:
The engine's driven C.W. pumps of 2 sets of D/G damaged due to the ball bearings on the pump shaft broken.The root cause was oil shortage
1. How to identify the quality and the right level of lub oil in the pump's sump while running?
2.The pump's sump oil lost due to the oil seal on the gear side was been found peel
Fault Analysis and Improvement:
Section 1: In the first failure, the gears of the F.W. cooling pump and Lub oil pump were been damaged due to deal with not in time. The root cause was lack of lub oil in bearing's chamber.
My queries as follows:
2. If the shortage of lub oil in the sump tank was happened, how to detect it in time? Otherwise the great damages will happen on the free side of D/G. inevitably. So, a oil level gauge and air vent tube(with a block v/v.)was devised and made by myself:
