The First Global Competition of Best Practices of Applied Algorithms is launched in Shanghai in 2021. It is supported by the Shanghai government, targeting all international teams in algorithm best practices and cutting-edge algorithm application talents. Awards

The competition will provide one grand prize for the overall winner of the competition, and one gold prize and two silver prizes of each of the 5 tracks.

The Competition will publish “Shanghai’s Global Supplier for Algorithm Services”list and “Applied Algorithm Virtual Laboratory”list, for all the TOP 100 teams.

Finally, the winners will receive the entrepreneurial support policies of the three major artificial intelligence innovation frontiers in Shanghai.

Competition Schedule

Ⅰ. Registration and preliminaries (online)

1. Time: 1st April to 15th May, 2021

2. Registration Pathway:

a. Register through official website, b. Contact [e-mail] or scan the following code to get free help on registration. Registration deadline: May 15th, 2021.

3. Judging method: 3-5 domestic and foreign experts are invited to serve as judges for each of the five competition’s tracks. The submitted documents will be reviewed online for each track. The first 100 projects that passes the preliminary round will enter the next stage of the competition (20 projects per track).

4. The 100 shortlisted projects will be notified to the shortlisted teams by email on May 16th.

Ⅱ. Regional finals (domestic offline, foreign online)

1. Time: 16th May to 15th June, 2021

2. Judging method:

For domestic entries: There would be four offline roadshows that will judge the competitions. These will be organized in the Yangtze River Delta region, Greater Bay region, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and central and western regions.

For international entries : There will be online selection.These will be done in accordance to the domestic ranking of each track obtained by the road shows. After comprehensive evaluation by the jury, the top 10 projects in each track will be selected for the world's top 50 projects.

Ⅲ. The finals ( for both domestic and international entries)

1. Time: June 28th to 29th, 2021

2. Host: Shanghai

3. Judging method: (detailed pre-match competition guidance for all events will be provided to all participants). Each of the five major tracks will hold offline track finals respectively, and finally one gold medalist for each track and two silver medalists for each track will be determined.

Ⅳ. Finals and Algorithm Industry Frontier Summit

1. Time: June 30th, 2021

2. Host: Shanghai

3. Evaluation method:

Finalists: Participants in the finals will be the top three projects from each track, a total of 15 projects in total.

Projects will be judged based on their technological relevance as well as commercial and investment value. The projects that is deemed to have the greatest relevance and contribution to most of these dimensions will receive the overall grand prize.

Competition format: offline live competition (foreign projects will be online), the jury will be composed of professional, corporate and institutional judges and their judgement will be webcasted live simultaneously.

Ⅴ. Award Ceremony

1. Time: July 8th, 2021

2. Venue: Shanghai

3. The grand prize, the gold and silver prizes in each track will be presented to the winners.
