自从疫情爆发以来，各种各样的谣言实在是太多了！今天的话题就是：关于“谣言”，怎么用英语表达？大家应该知道fact这个词，fact是“事实”，与之相反的，就是谣言了：fact 事实rumor 谣言谣言也可以说：hearsay 谣言；道听途说的事传播谣言，是：to start a rumor 散布谣言to spread a rumor 散布谣言“谣言说/有传言说，……”可以这样表达：Rumor has it that there will be war. 谣言说快要打仗了。 Rumor has it that he was murdered. 有传言说他被谋杀了。
也可以说：Rumors are flying about his past.关于他的传言满天飞。Rumors are flying about a merger between the two media giants.谣言满天飞，说两大媒体巨头将合并。我们下子就学到了两个非常有用的句型：Rumor has it that…Rumors are flying about…表示自己不相信谣言，可以说：I don't buy the story. 我不相信。（不会“买”这个“故事”，因为这个“故事”是假的。）如果你听到一个谣言，首先要知道的是：Most people who spread rumors don't care if the story is true or not, and don't bother to check it out.大部分传播谣言的人并不关心事情是真是假，也不会费力去查证。
