今天来探究一下take用作 “花费”时的用法。
中学时候，老师讲过，take作“花费”时候，是以物作主语，其实不然，现代英语中越来越多的用“人”作主语。什么？不敢用？世界级权威教材中有很多例句支撑这个语法点，看过的再写，听过的再说，所以大胆用。
物作主语（中文翻译为今日练习）
I went on an excursion recently, but my trip took me longer than I expected.

It took me over half an hour to get rid of him.

I took just ten minutes to solve that problem.

对spend。
用法为spend…on sth.或spend…(in) doing sth.
例如：
1. I argue that if I spend less time exhausting myself at exercises in the morning I would keep my mind fresh for reading when I got home from work.

中国古代名画《清明上河图》（Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival）描绘的是北宋都城汴京在清明时节繁华热闹的景象。清明上河是当时的民间习俗，人们可以借以参加商贸活动，就像今天的节日集会一样。全图规模宏大，结构严谨，大致分为三个段落：第一是市郊景画，第二段是汴河，第三段城内街市。画家通过对汴京城内建筑、商贸、交通、运输几个方面的描绘，再现了北宋都城的繁华和发达。
1.“繁华”和“热闹”可以翻译为bustling和flourishing；
2. 北宋朝，North Song Dynasty；
3. 清明上河，这个 “上”是个动词“去，到”的意思，所以 “上河”可以翻译为“going to Bian River”；
4. 第三句话难度最大，这里给出主干句子与提示：
The painting features grand and complex scenes with a rigorous structure在加上which引导的定语从句，which can broadly be divided into three parts:…………………
5. 最后一句可以转换下句子，“…的描绘再现了北宋的….”，这样可以使得句子更加紧凑。
