Amazon.com: Nucleus Anywhere Intercom with Amazon Alexa (N1001R31B): Home Improvement
The Nucleus has saved my life. My elderly father is in the hospital with a broken hip, and my mother isn't able to figure out how to call me on the phone, so the one-touch instant connect feature of Nucleus has been an absolute lifesaver. I've set up my unit in California as one room and my parents' unit in Virginia as another room in the same house, so with a single touch Mom has instant-on viewing access to my house here, which helps her keep in touch with all of us and not feel so alone with Dad in the hospital. It's also excellent for being able to look together at what's come for her in the mail - it's much easier to figure out her questions about bills when she can show them to me over the Nucleus. The quality isn't good enough for me to read the text, but usually the rough visuals are enough for me to be able to advise her correctly about what to do. The sound quality does deteriorate over the course of a call, but we just hang up and call back, not a big deal when the connection sets up so quickly. I've bought another Nucleus now so that my sister can have the same access to Mom, and I've told all my friends with aging parents about this device. I'm sure it's excellent as an intercom, but as a way of communicating quickly and easily with elderly parents, it's worth its weight in gold.
