疯狂剧场上演的“三无”手术

最近，delta变种病毒肆虐全球，再一次给各国医疗体系造成巨大的压力，其中英国情况尤为惨烈。

什么？英国的医院还设有剧场？这是什么级别的待遇？

看起来好像英国的医护人员因为新冠病人太多而感到力不从心，于是医院把所有的剧场都改建了，这难道是要效仿中国建“方舱”吗？

其实，这两句话中的theatre并不是剧场的意思，而是手术室。theatre完整的说法是operating theater。

那么，为什么把手术室叫做operating theater呢？这是因为19世纪还没有细菌学的概念，手术可公开观摩，为了方便观看，手术室就设计成阶梯的形状，如同剧场一般。

那时候，外科手术中没有普及麻醉，伴随着病人鬼哭狼嚎的叫声，拿到入场券的观众像看戏一样，一边交头接耳，一边观摩医生做手术的全过程，有时候还爆发雷鸣般的掌声。来，体会一下无麻醉、无消毒和无止血的“三无”手术。
