在采访中Labrinth谈到了这首歌背后的灵感;“很多人可能都有过这样的经历。这首歌是从我的家人当时的感受出发写的，但我想让所有人都能深入体会这首歌，并与他们自己的处境相联系。其实，在我成长的过程中，父亲是缺席的，但这其实并不困扰我，因为从一开始他就不在我身边。但后来他又成家了，让我嫉妒的是，没有我和我的家人，他依旧过的很开心。不过，在我写这首歌时，我不想写出自我放纵的感觉，这样听众就不能从中获得自己的个人经验。但我认为这是我情感最强烈的歌曲之一，因为它让我不得不拿出自己内心的一部分感觉来录制唱片，而我以前从未真正这么做过。”
