1 a clap of thunder 一阵雷声

There was a clap of thunder, followed immediately by forked lightning. 响起了一阵雷声，接着便是叉形闪电。

2 whip my face 打在我的脸上

The rain whipped my face. 雨打在我的脸上。

3 stagger sideways 东倒西歪

The wind was so strong that we staggered sideways as we walked toward the classroom. 风刮得很厉害，我们走向教室的时候个个东倒西歪。

4 splatter over my glasses 打在我的眼镜上

Rain was splattering over my glasses. Since the rain was so thick that my vision was so clouded by the rain on my glasses.雨点打在我的眼镜上，雨太大，弄得我视线模糊。

5 be soaked to my skin 湿透了

I was soaked to my skin and frozen. 我浑身湿透了，还冻僵了。

6 huddle  挤在一起

Then, we dashed to a large umbrella and huddled under it. 然后我们冲向了一把大伞，然后挤在一起。

7 rolls of thunder 隆隆的雷声

Then came lighting and rolls of thunder.

接着是电光闪闪，雷声隆隆。

8 whip the umbrella out of my hand 把我手里的伞吹走了

A sudden gust of wind whipped the umbrella out of my hand. 一阵狂风把我手里的伞给吹走了。
