Growth in New Amateur Radio Licenses Ahead of Last Year’s

美国今年新增业余无线电执照数量稳超去年同期

The ARRL VEC Department reports that 20,447 new US Amateur radio licenses have been issued since January 1. That’s nearly 1500 ahead of the number that had been issued by this time last year. At the present pace, the US is on track to exceed 30,000 new radio amateurs for the third straight year by the end of the year.

ARRL VEC部门报告指出，今年1月1日以来，美国新颁发业余无线电执照数量为20447。这个数字比去年同期增加了近1500人。按照目前的速度，美新增业余无线电爱好者数量将在今年年底连续第三年突破30000人。

“While I am thrilled with this prospect, I’m also keenly aware that without some mentoring, these new hams’ initial curiosity and enchantment may fade if they don’t get on the air right away,” said ARRL VEC Manager Maria Somma, AB1FM. “Let’s show these new hams what the magic is all about,” she urged.
