It was always intended that Beijing’s iconic National Aquatics Center would become an ongoing legacy for the people after the 2008 Olympics. The challenge was to complete its transformation into a family recreation facility within a tight two-year timeline. Inspired by the building’s unique watery skin, FORREC saw the opportunity to create a fantastical underwater kingdom.

Giant translucent air bubbles, suspended jellyfish, stylized schools of fish and coral-like column coverings give the impression of being magically submerged. Completed in just 17 months, it won the World Waterpark Association’s Industry Innovation Award in 2010. The Happy Magic Watercube transports almost 3,000 guests at any one time to a true water world that’s gained stature as one of the world’s leading indoor water park attractions.

一直以来，北京标志性的国家游泳中心都希望成为继2008年奥运会之后人们留下的遗产。面临的挑战是在两年的时间内完成家庭娱乐设施的转型。受建筑独特的水性皮肤的启发，福雷克看到了创造一个梦幻般的水下王国的机会。

巨大的半透明气泡，悬浮的水母，风格化的鱼群和珊瑚状的柱子覆盖物给人一种被魔法淹没的印象。在短短17个月内完成，2010赢得了世界水公园协会的工业创新奖。“快乐魔幻水立方”将近3000名宾客一次运送到一个真正的水世界，这个水世界已经成为世界领先的室内水上公园景点之一。
