Christmas
Since the sky is empty,
the earth has become fuller
with a thousand electric stars
and bargains that retailers use to tempt.
Shepherds preach a lot—
instead of angels, CDs sing.
Even without the three Wise Men,
there are royal gifts.
Still, a child is born,
but the Messiah is not present.
Anyhow, it is a man who wishes
that Heaven would not be so empty.

圣诞节
既然天空是空的
地球已更加丰满
有一千颗电星
以及和零售商诱惑的交易
牧羊人长篇演讲
代替了天使唱CD
即使没有三位圣人
也有国王的礼物
然而，一位孩子出生了
弥赛亚不在场
无论如何，这是一个人祝愿
天堂不会如此空虚。

Explination of the poem
这首诗的解释
This is a quite critical poem. In the past, in Europe, where Catholicism and Christians were the most important relations during ages, people used to go to the Church for a mass. Many at midnight. It was a purely religious happening. Not a FEAST. People celebrated the birth of Christ. In their homes. With a small Christmas tree and a mini cradle in which were small images of a just born baby (Christ), his father, his mother and some shepherds. People had a simple diner. It was an intimate celebration.
As it in several occasions happened, Americans made of Christmas big business and the the European countries (but also China and Korea, no Catholic countries “imported” the business idea. Same to Black Friday, which is also “invented” by the Americans.
Nowadays, the religious atmosphere is nearly completely replaced by business: people buy expensive presents, go to expensive restaurants and finally, the original idea: celebrating the birth of Jesus (God) is lost. That is what the poem criticizes.
Christmas
Since the sky is empty
the people are not anymore religious, do not anymore go to church to pray, don’t believe anymore in god
the earth has become fuller
every year there are more people on the earth
With a thousand electric stars
the is light of publicity everywhere, one does not see anymore the stars in heaven
and bargains with which retailers lure
Shops are making much publicity to make the people buy
Shepherds preach long
instead of angels sing the CDs
everywhere is music, much if it has nothing to do with Christmas/religion
Even without the three sages
Reverence to the Tree Kings which came to adore Jesus when he was born
there are royal gifts
The expensive presents people give to each other
However, a child is born
I think he means, that in some places of the world, poor children are born
the Messiah is not present
for them, there is no messiah, a god, or anyone who will offer him a better life
Anyway, it is a man who wishes
This new born child – man wishes
that heaven would not be so empty.
that there would be a better life (coming from heaven)

小知识
圣诞节（Christmas）又称耶诞节，译名为“基督弥撒”，西方传统节日，在每年12月25日。弥撒是教会的一种礼拜仪式。圣诞节是一个宗教节，因为把它当作耶稣的诞辰来庆祝，故名“耶诞节”。
大部分的天主教教堂都会先在24日的平安夜，亦即12月25日凌晨举行子夜弥撒，而一些基督教会则会举行报佳音，然后在12月25日庆祝圣诞节；基督教的另一大分支——东正教的圣诞节庆则在每年的1月7日。
圣诞节也是西方世界以及其他很多地区的公共假日，例如：在亚洲的香港、澳门、马来西亚和新加坡。圣经实际上并无记载耶稣诞生日期，圣诞节是后人公定的
