Mood 几乎是家喻户晓的一个单词,我们都知道它的意思是”心情,情绪“,表示在特定时间的感觉,是一个可数名词,常用来表示什么样的心情,比如 in a good mood,in a bad/black/foul mood,in no mood 或 in the mood 等,例如:
1. in a good mood,
Wait until he's in a better mood before you ask him.
He was not in a good mood that day.2. in a bad/black/foul mood,意为“情绪很差”:Steve was in a particularly bad mood when he got back. She's been in a really black mood all day.3. in no mood,意为“没心情,没心思”:
He was in no mood for being polite to visitors. With his work unfinished, he was in no mood to see a film.4. in the mood for sth/to do sth,意为”想要做什么或想要什么“:I'm not in the mood for company.I'm not really in the mood for shopping.
I wonder why he's in such a mood today.She was obviously in a mood.She was in one of her moods.由此可见,单独使用的 in a mood 和 in a good mood 或类似的意思是相差十万八千里,使用时要引起注意,不要到最后把真的好心情(in a good mood)变成坏脾气(in a mood)。当 mood 用于结构 in a mood for sth/to do sth 中时,mood 的意思又不是“坏心境,坏脾气”,而还是“心情,情绪”的意思,这个短语意为”想做某事或想拥有某物“,例如:The voters seem to be in a mood for change.
