Franz Xaver Winterhalter (Franz xwinteraver halter, 1805 -- 1873) a master of classicism in the middle of the 19th century in the German School of art, specializing in portraiture.
Franz Xaver Winterhalter was born on April 20 in Menzenschwand, Germany, the sixth child of farmer and resin manufacturer Fidel Winterhalter Winterhalter and his wife Eva Myer Eva Meyer.
His father had a great influence on his life. Of the eight brothers and sisters in the family, only four survived. In his life, Winterhalter was greatly influenced by his painter brother Hermann (1808-1891) .
