My little daughter has already smartened up for the evening party.

She did her best to smarten her husband up.

4 glitter 闪光，受瞩目 vi./n.

The party glittered with many famous persons.

聚会因许多名人而引人注目。

5 throw a party 举办一个聚会

We threw a party for the newcomers.

我们为新来的人举行了一个聚会。

We threw a huge birthday party. 
 我们举办了一次盛大的生日派对。

6 hang off 犹豫不决

She invited me to take part in her party but I hung off.

她邀请我去参加她的聚会，可我却犹豫不决。

7 charm sb. 迷住某人

Her beauty charmed everyone at the party.

她的美貌迷住了所有参加晚会的人。

8 bring a sparkle to the party 成为聚会的小亮点

These miniature glasses brought a sparkle to the party.
