On either side of the carriage there were two small platforms on which the gunners climbed to load and level the gun. Wooden wedges, weighting 300 kg each, were placed behind the wheels for counter-recoil. These guns were equipped with quadrant level ¼ circle with goniometer graduated in millièmes. Six guns were given by the Russian Army in 1882; three more guns were captured during the Balkan War. After the Balkan Wars, the Turkish shells captured in great number at Odrin, were assigned to the Bulgarian batteries to be temporarily used (Order on Artillery No. 30/23.07.1915).More pictures from Sofia Military Museum
