The local government is selling 100 abandoned properties online and it is expected to have another 400 added soon.
里面另有猫腻(There's a catch.)。
Buyers must agree to renovate their new homes within a year of purchase or they will lose their $8,000 (£4,270) security deposit.

Daily Mail:
It may sound too good to be true, but an Italian town is set to sell 500 homes for less than £1 each.
Mussomeli in southern Sicily has put 100 empty properties up for sale online for €1, or 85p, with another 400 expected to follow.
Some of the homes are very small, but are made up of multiple bedrooms and offer stunning views across the Italian countryside.
Fox News:
The town of Mussomeli, in southern Sicily, is selling abandoned properties for just $1.60 (or about one Euro).
While this might seem like a deal that’s too good to be true, there is a catch — anyone who buys one of these low-cost homes must agree to renovate it within a year. If not, the buyer loses their security deposit (about $8,000).
There are also administrative fees to consider, which can cost between $4,000 to $6,450.
New York Post:
For the price of an espresso lungo, you too can own a classic home in Italy.
In Sicily, just a few hours’ drive from the famed Amalfi coast, the ancient town of Mussomeli is selling 100 properties for a euro apiece — a mere $1.60 — as the local government seeks to revitalize the stagnating area as residents flock to urban areas.
