11月1日,我受邀在“第七届亚太卓越采购峰会”上发表了题为“未来采购领导力”的主旨演讲。演讲以英文呈现。下面是演讲全文的中英文完整版的第二部分。
On March 20th 2019, Apple released the second generation AirPods. In addition to playing audio, AirPods feature a built-in microphone that filters out background noise, which allows taking phone calls and talking to Apple's digital assistant, Siri. Additionally, built-in accelerometers and optical sensors can detect taps (e.g. double-tap to pause audio) and in-ear placement, which enables automatic pausing when they are taken out of the ears.
2019年3月20日,苹果发布了第二代AirPods。除了播放音频外,AirPods还内置麦克风,可以滤除背景噪音,拨打电话并与Apple的数字助理Siri通话。此外,内置的加速度器和光学传感器可以检测到敲击声(例如,双击以暂停音频)和入耳式放置,从而可以在将其从耳朵中取出时自动暂停。
Besides, the new generation AirPods solved a big problem, or a puzzle - find the right size ear tips for in-ear earbuds. Because in most cases you don't really know which size fits best for each ear. AirPods Pro have an “Ear Tip Fit Test” (accessed within the “i” icon for your AirPods Pro within your iOS device’s Bluetooth settings) and after listening to a short tune, it’ll tell you whether each ear tip is a “good seal” or not. If the test comes up negative, you should change one or both for a different size and redo it.

Do you have some post millennial team members or colleagues? How to get along with them? It is evident the "old school" approach doesn't work anymore. For instance, just ask them to take top-down orders and deliver results can only get an average performance, because their own initiative is not empowered and their creativity is not triggered.

Apple Store is an Eco-system, which is combined by hardware, software and eco-rules. It is an extended organic OS (Operating System), in which, the parties are both compatible and complemental, and any party's growth may enable and energize other parties' growth.

The future leadership is going to be an eco-system, not only being able to accommodate hardware and software to solve linear and singular challenges and problems, but also gain very strong learning agility to keep abreast of times, so as to well cruise between human and machines (AI), known and unknown areas.

In the passing World Economic Forum (WEF), Elon Musk talked about AI. He said, we are already cyborgs because everyone of us is well integrated with our phones and computers. How many of us have heavily relied on our phones to enjoy all convenience and efficiency in such a cashless society, take a taxi, pay a bill, buy an ice cream, all done with a swipe on your phone in a wink. We can't even survive without our phones! And I'm sure, there are more digital skills we can learn and master to make our life better.

"B" means "Build", another ordinary word. I put a blueprint here because when I said Build, it means build from the sratch because those things don't exist yet! For Procurement leaders, what most likely are we building from the scratch?

If we don't build the above mentioned capabilities, we are "born" to fail in this VUCA era.

"C" means "Change". The key is who leads the change and who is changed? Usually, we are willing to change others, to see other's changing, instead of changing ourselves, isn't it?
“ C”表示“改变”、“变化”、“变革”。这里的关键是谁在领导变革,谁在被改变?通常,我们愿意改变别人,看到别人的改变,而不是改变自己,不是吗?
April 8, 1983, Steve Job asked John Sculley: "Do you want to spend the rest of your life selling sugared water or do you want a chance to change the world?" After that conversation, John, the former president of PepsiCo, took charge as Apple’s third CEO. Obviously he changed himself to accept such a "humble" hi-tech company vs. the gigantic PepsiCo. On that position, John was able to join Steve Jobs to change the world.
