Dare 是英语情态动词的学习过程中常遇到的一个单词,它既可以是普通动词,也可以是类似于 ough to,have to 和 need 等的半情态动词,意为“敢于;胆敢"等,通常不用于进行时。

一、dare 作普通动词

2. 意为”激(某人做某事);问(某人)有没有胆量(做某事);谅(某人)没胆量(做某事)“,格式是 dare sb to do sth,例如:
Some of the older boys had dared him to do it.
几个大男孩激他,问他敢不敢干这事。
Some snakes can bite but I dare you to hold this big snake.
有些蛇会咬人,但谅你也没胆量抓住这条大蛇。

二、dare 作情态动词,后面接不带 to 不定式,常用于疑问句和否定句中,过去式是 dared,例如:

三、常用搭配
