仁爱版八年级英语第三单元第三个话题的C部分是一篇阅读文章,很经典,是很多人从小就开始读的文章。这一个星期,我们赏析了这篇文章。说真的,本来一节课划重点就可以解决的事情,我们却用了四节课来赏析,因为文章太美,值得我们仔细地反复研读。

原文如下:

The Little Match Girl

It was snowy and dark on the last evening of the year.Many people were getting together in their warm homes.A poor little girl was still walking in the streets with no shoes.There were some matches in her hand.

"Matches,matches!"the little girl cried in a low voice.No one heard her when they were passing by.She didn't sell any matches and no one gave her a coin.The wind was blowing strongly and the snow was falling down on her long hair.She felt cold and hungry.

Lights were shining from one box of matches, because her father would beat her.

"Ah, a burning match may warm me up!"she thought.She lit three matches.When the matches were burning, she saw a warm stove, a delicious roast goose and a beautiful Christmas tree.But all these disappeared when the flames went out.Then sh lit a fourth match.A kind old woman was standing there.

"Grandmother!"cried the little girl."Take me with you."Her grandmother smiled and held the girl in her arms.

On the morning of the new year, the girl was lying against the wall, dead!

首先,我得承认,我没有写教案,没有参考书,没有课件,(一体机还没有修好)。到目前为止,除了市、省、国家优质课,去云南、河北、包头等地讲课,平时我真的几乎没有写过教案,这会遭到很多人批判的。但是,我会认真地思考,我会欣赏和品味文字的美。

对于如此文章,一般的老师都会用一节课画一下重点,我为什么却在考试前夕不去复习,而占用了四节非常宝贵的时间来干这事儿呢?因为我认为太美了,值得我这样做。初中教材因为文字简单,很难欣赏到美到让我心动的文字,不像高中,那时几乎每一篇完形都是享受。个人认为,如果我的写字有一点能看,百分之九十要感谢高中每天的阅读熏陶,那些文字像有魔力一样,吸引着我。一天不做,绝对是精神萎靡的一天。

好了,来看这篇文字,美得让我沉沦的文字。我给学生们说“This is classical.Do you know why?That's because it is calssical.”哈哈,不是文字游戏,这就是经典,它的文字值得我们去品味,去品读,去欣赏,去把玩。我们一起来吧。下面记录几个印象还深刻的细节。

It was snowy and dark on the last evening of the year.What does snowy mean?If it snows, what will you do?What will you wear?So many people were staying in their warm homes.Only one little girl walked on the street ,but she didnt wear shoes.What does Dark mean?学生说是黑暗的,我追问是什么黑暗呢?只是天的黑吗?学生经过引导,慢慢得出结论,社会也可以非常dark.第三个词是last,暗示了什么?在这一天人们要做什么?所以在故事的第一句话就已经给故事定了一个基调。

第二句话中的warm是一个非常好的单词,在大学纷飞的夜晚人们就应该呆在温暖的家里,但是,原文却用了many people ,not all the people,which means some people were not.Then the little girl will come and she is one of the some people who were not in the warm homes.Getting together 意味着一家人,很多人聚集在一起。第三句话中的poor,it has two meaning, have no money and show sympathy,一个意思是没有钱,另外意思是可怜的,你们认为是哪一种?应该是两种都有,从这句话就已经看出作者对小姑娘的态度。still 有什么含义,仅仅指仍然吗?什么情感?举了两个例子来佐证,表示可能已经走了很久了,现在依然在做这件事情。with no shoes,讲到这里的时候,我已经快说不出来话了,索性我让孩子们闭上眼睛,想象这个画面:大雪纷飞的除夕夜,万家灯火的黑夜里,一个小姑娘赤脚行走在大街上。On the last evening of the year ,when many people were staying in the warm homes, this poor little girl was walking with no shoes.孩子们沉浸在画面里,沉浸在想象中,我不忍心把他们唤醒。最后一句话点明了她可能要做的事情。

第二段,重点分析了两个no one.第一次是在句子“No one heard her when they were passing by.”第二次“She didnt sell any matches and no one gave her a coin ”我们解读到两次出现no one就已经注定了小姑娘最后的结局是死的,因为在她活着的时候已经没有人看到她,没有人注意到她的存在。“long hair”不代表她的爱美 ,而是说明了无人给她打理,所以后面才有“felt cold and hungry.”

第三段,"every window"说明每个家庭都在团聚,而她却害怕爸爸会揍她不敢回家。

第四段中的形容词和名次是重点,都是积极的褒义色彩的形容词,“ a warm stove,a delicious roast goose and a beautiful christmas tree”和“a kind old woman”,这是她现实生活中看不到的, 更是感觉不到的。所以,这些美丽幻境的出现加速了小女孩悲剧的发生。

第六段,On the morning of the new year, the girl was lying against the wall, dead!和第一段It was snowy and dark on the last evening of the year.这两句的对比很明显,一个是早上,一个是晚上,一个是新年的第一天早上,一个是一年的最后一天,一个生命就这样结束了。再来看,她的身体姿态,靠着墙,甚至都没有在房间里的床上。一个加了感叹号的形容词dead放在句子的末尾让人悲痛至极,一篇故事到最后只剩下了一个孤零零的形容词,“死”的状态。这种悲痛让人油然而生。

在课文的真正讲解中,我们几乎是全英,或者英汉两种,讲的更细致情感更充沛。我知道,这不是一节高效课堂,别人用一节的,我却用了四节。但是,我认为只有这样讲才对得起经典这两个字,才能充分理解安徒生的心情。我去过丹麦小镇,见到过他的雕塑和小女孩的塑像,现在再读,更深刻理解了安徒生先生的那种悲悯和无奈。

英语,是语言,除了知识点的讲解,还应该有文字感染,情感熏陶,精神滋养。这篇文章,我做到了。

致敬经典,我愿意这样“浪费时间”。语言的魅力就是这样在慢慢的节奏中品出来的,熏出来的。没有让我失望的是,孩子们对文章的理解都的确更深刻了。
