want sb to do sth还是want sb doing sth(正误辨)
表示“想要或希望某人做某事”,可以用 want sb. to do sth. 或者 want sb. doing sth.句型。但是,最好注意:(1)want sb. to do sth. 句型的例句在词典中很容易找到,这里就不举例了,在考试中,最好用这种句型。(2)want sb. doing sth.句型中的doing 是现在分词,不是动名词。这种句型中的want多用否定式,但是也可以用肯定式。因为很多词典没有提供例句,所以,容易被判为错误,所以,在考试中最好不用。以下例句均出自英语原著,转引自张道真主编的《现代英语用法词典》修订版:I don't want women medding in my affairs.
