这首歌讲述的是LP和前女友分手的经历，她用这首歌向自己为这段感情花费的时间致敬。她在接受《独立报》采访时表示:“当我写这首歌的时候，我们实际上还没有分手，一年后我们才分手的。但就像被慢慢地窒息了一样……在开始一段感情时，我总是希望它能天长地久，我想大多数人都是这样，但之后你会经历一段可怕的时期，意识到这段感情不管用。”
