Modular Residential Community

Nowadaysevery country and city is facing a severe problem: Housing crisis. Since theglobal population is growing at an alarming rate. At the same time, humans’personalities and requirements become increasingly various. That high-riseresidential which are monotonous and normal cannot satisfy human’s need. All ofthe raising the question: how can we create a diverse community and be specialfor every dweller in every high-density city. And how can we define a privatespace for everyone.
Oneof the possible ways I found is TETRIS. By using one of its basic prototype:L,I create some sets of the distinctive unit, and add some rules to organize andintegrate them, Eventually a suitable cosmopolitan modular residence born. Thisresidence can “occupy” different types of spaces in the city: Some can surviveat the crack between two buildings; Some may take a good position on the streetcorner with an Open ground-floor space. Some can be hung between high-risebuildings. Others even can be set individually at some narrow sites.
Basedon the three fundamental prototypes “L” which are circle, square and semicircle+rectangle,I try to manipulate the “L” in different ways. By rotating, mirroring andpiling, plenty of “L” units are born. Meanwhile, at the level of floor planningand section, Different units bite each other, forming a high-density andefficient internal communication space. With more additional public spaceunits, eventually, I get various and various projects. As for transportation, threeisometric traffic space distributed regularly some balcony stairs enrich thefacade.

TETRIS ELEMENTSELECTION/
Based on six forms of Tetris, I takeconsideration of their features and feasibility. To become the best choice ofthe prototype, it must be variable and creative. The “L” shape finally becomesthe basic prototype.

“L”TYPE MODELFORMATION/L
Normal cube module hasno special potience to create a new, personalized space for people. But theTETRIS "L" has this ability, it will become my primal unit.

Floor planning rotateswith the axis, finally, the three basic prototype born. I also use othergeometric elements to create some potential space for public activities.

SUPERPOSITION RULE/
The rule ofcopy or superposition is the "L" which has the same color will beseparated by the other two units,1 middle units have 3 small units,1 big unitshave7-10 small units. The white public space will fill the blank space.
