Seasonal Shift Do Affect Our Mood

Tuesday

These days, the leaves are starting to turn into yellow, the days are getting shorter and the temperatures are dropping, to keep warm, forcing you put on more clothes. At the same time, you find yourself feeling down. Maybe, we can call it seasonal mood shift.

Actually, some people become more irritable and lose their temper easily. Perhaps, they are the seasonal shift sufferers. And there are also some features, showing little interest in social activities,  feeling less energy, wanting to sleep or having trouble sleeping at night.

As we know, there must be a lot of biological and physical reasons affecting our mood changes. But, according to science studies, it shows that the length of day do affect our mood. And what affects our mood a lot is less sunlight we can get.

Commonly, circadian clock is our internal time-keeper inside our bodies.  It tells us when to wake up and when to fall asleep. And it does play a significant role in a lot of operating systems inside our body such as hormone release and metabolism.

As it is autumn now, we enjoy less sunlight and lower temperature. As a result, they impress our circadian clock and influence our mood. At the same time, they affect how much melatonin and other hormones which affect our daily lives severely.

In Iceland, as reported, almost 11 percent people suffer from seasonal melancholia in every winter. According to scientific research, a lack of sunlight makes those keeping melatonin inside their bodies 2.4 times higher than normal people. And increasing melatonin comes from lacking sunlight.

Climate changes don’t necessarily affect everyone the same way. Unfortunately, if you are one of them, several tips have been preparing for you. Tip one, keep in touch with sunlight and let them in as much as possible. Tip two, do regular exercise and keep yourself active. Tip three, eat right and healthy.

As winter is right there waiting, you can follow the above tips if you are one winter blue victim. If it damages or ruins your life, you can immediately turn your doctor for help. Friendly reminder: do not blame all your discontented things for seasonal shift!
