Where do I start? Um. . . Well, I took a loss on the house that you got me, I, uh, I lost my job, Can't find a new one. I have a ton of credit card debt, and Mary Beth was willing to help me out with all of that.

Well, so would I. Why didn't you come to me for help?

Do you know what it feels like to have to keep running back to your mother to fix your problems? My whole life, you've been propping me up. . . when I needed a job, when I was dumped, when I was drinking. I'm just. . . I'm so tired of you seeing me as a failure.

Andrew, if you would go through all of this Andrew rather than come to me for help, then I am the one who's failed.

How about we just agree that we both failed?

So what are you gonna do now?

I don't know. I had a pretty good setup there. . . A place to live, somebody who needed me,  All the frozen custard I could eat.

Well, I don't have any custard, but I can offer you a place to stay, and. . . someone else who needs you.

All right. But just until I get back on my feet again.

看完影片,大家应该知道,我们今天要介绍的表达就是“get back on one's feet”了吧~一起来看~

get back on one's feet

I know it is not easy to get back on my feet, but I will take a shot.

当然,如果把back去掉,也可以用来表示生活“自立”,也就是get on one's feet~
It's just until she gets on her feet.

put XX's feet up|休息休息

I'll be glad of a chance to put my feet up.

wait on XX hand and foot|无微不至/细心地照顾

He's waiting on her hand and foot.

XX be /get waited on hand and foot,意思就是某人被细心地照顾着。

例句:

Marry me, you will get waited on hand and foot.

Don't get cold feet so early. It's not time to give up.

start/get off on the wrong foot|起步就错,开局不顺

We did get off on the wrong foot, but we are best friends now.

start/get off on the right foot|起步顺利

例句:

I wanted to get off on the right foot.

      shoot yourself in the foot|祸从口出

One day you'll shoot yourself in the foot. Stop saying that way.

      put your foot in it|说错话

这里的it替换的就是“mouth”,当然也可以直接说成put your foot in your mouth~~意思是“说话不经大脑,让人尴尬😅 ”

Put/Stick a sock in it. 🤣🤣🤣

      not put a foot wrong|步步小心

Given the situation here, I have to not put a foot wrong.

I am the eyesore for them. I can't put a foot wrong.

foot the bill 支付账单

It is obvious that he doesn't want to foot the bill.
