【每日一练】fill me in

有时候我们不在现场，不知道事情发生的情况、真相或后续发展，这时我们可以叫知情的人“fill me in”，“fill”的意思是填充，“fill me in”就是“让我知道；告诉我”，后面再加上“on sth.”就表示要告诉的内容。

所以，“fill sb. in on sth.”的意思就是：to tell someone the details about someone or something

I couldn't attend, so will you fill me in?

我参加不了，你能告诉我具体情况吗？

I didn't receive the information in the mail –
could you fill me in?

我在邮件中没收到信息——你能告诉我具体情况吗？

Fill me in – what happened at the party last night?

告诉我——昨晚派对上发生什么了？

A: Thanks for filling me in. You’ve been a big help.

谢谢你告诉我情况。你帮了我大忙。

B: Any time. That’s what friends are for.

随时效劳。我们是好朋友嘛。

I wasn’t there, would you fill me in on
what happened?

我不在场，你能告诉我发生了什么事吗？

Please fill in the boss on the details.

请告知老板细节。

下次想让别人告诉你具体情况的时候，就简单地说声：
