The move from elementary school to middle school or junior high can be difficult.  从小学进入中学或者初中的这种变动可能会有困难。

grade school  小学

I was just in grade school at the time, but I remember it perfectly. 我当时刚上小学，但我记得很清楚。

3rd grade 三年级

Well, it's a long time ago but it was elementary school, you know, maybe 3rd grade, 4th grade. 那是很久以前的事情了，应该是小学时候吧，那大概是三年级或者四年级。
