would是一个很难很难的词, 我们往往说话的时候不会用这个词, 别人用了这个词, 往往不明白为什么用这个词.

大家熟悉的would用法是3个: will的过去式; 虚拟语气; 礼貌

She said she would call me(这里would做will的过去式)

If I were you, I would call him(这里would表示虚拟语气)

Would you like some coffee? (这里would表示礼貌)

would的用法也折磨了我很久, 有一次我请教一个老外, 他说would往往是用于soften the tone.

这个用法我以前没听过, 但拿他这个说法去套, 我发现很多时候是能套的上的.

比如这一篇里would出现了多次, 你试着把它换成will读一读

This is the way you will learn a musical instrument. You will practice the basic piece, bla bla, then you will move on to…

读出声来, 多读几遍, 感受一下是不是有一种命令式的/强硬的/非常确信的语气

再换回would读几遍, 读出声来, 体会一下, 是不是感觉语气弱化柔和了一些, 不那么presumptuous了, 也许有的人并不是从易到难地学习呢

如果拿这个去套的话, 我觉得之前的关于礼貌的用法, 甚至很多虚拟语气的用法都可以套上来.

从第141篇开始, 我不再放出我自己听写的版本, 而是改为在答案上标记重难点, 大家特别注意一下我加粗的地方.
