Hennessy Ellipse Cognac 700ml
Hennessy Ellipse: Seven Generations of Savoir-Faire in one Cognac
This extra special limited edition by Hennessy managed to secure a place in the top ten most expensive Cognacs of all time, and it's worth every penny. From its handmade Baccarat crystal glass carafe to its eaux-de-vie sourced from seven generations of master blenders, it is a celebration of Hennessy's savoir-faire in his purest yet most luxurious form.
Introduced in 2006, only 2000 bottles of this Prestige-aged Cognac have been produced, rendering it extremely rare and highly collectible to even the most demanding Cognac connoisseur. Following on from the success of its predecessor Hennessy Timeless, Ellipse has carved itself a place in Cognac history with its unique blend of eaux-de-vie, painstakingly selected to ensure the best balance of aromas, while still allowing each master blender to leave their mark with their own distinct eau-de-vie, representing both their generation and contribution to Hennessy's heritage and history.
All of Hennessy’s Cellar Masters are from the same family, the Filliouxs, who have passed their knowledge and expertise down from father to son for over two centuries, Cognac production is in their blood, with each generation leaving their own legacy to be continued by the next. Containing eaux-de-vie from as early as 1771, this is a Cognac for the most discerning drinker, for the most dedicated Cognac connoisseur.
Hennessy experts have managed to orchestrate a harmonious balance between the delicacy of certain eaux-de-vie versus the vibrant nature of others, a blend of pure perfection, and symphony of savoir-faire. The Ellipse doesn't simply tell a story, it recounts the history of this legendary house by paying tribute to its family of seven Cellar Masters:
- Jean Fillioux from 1800-1838
- Christophe Fillioux from 1838-1859
- Emile Fillioux from 1859-1890
- Alfred Fillioux from 1890-1941
- Raymond Fillioux from 1941-1958
- Maurice Fillioux from 1958-1991
- Yann Fillioux from 1991 to date.
Very few bottles of Ellipse are left on the market, so this is certainly one to purchase before it's too late, a true piece of history and an elegant addition to your collection.
How to Enjoy:
Of course, being such a rare Cognac it’s truly an honor to be lucky enough to drink it, and if you do, it should be neat, in a snifter if possible.
Presentation of the Bottle:
Designed by Thomas Bastide, this exquisite hand-made carafe was created by Baccarat in crystal glass, with each edition being produced and individually controlled by the masters at the Manufacture. Its avant garde design, with bubbles bursting on the body, allows the light to reflect through the Cognac's beautiful amber tones, revealing luxurious flashes of gold when refracted off its curves.
This is not simply a storage unit for your Cognac, it's a work of art, to be displayed and enjoyed as a contemporary yet classic masterpiece. The carafe equally comes with an elegant and modern stand, which suspends it in a gravity defying and aesthetically pleasing position. Its arrow-head glass stopper finishes off the asymmetrical design, a true feat of craftsmanship and artisanal expertise
