【生活英文】到底说还是不说？英文巧妙表达4句话！

英文中有很多惯用法，如果不了解，往往会闹出笑话。

比如这四句话：

You don’t say.

I’ll say.

You can say that again.

Tell me about it.

以上四句话都是跟说有关的。如果按照字面意思理解，按顺序是这样的：

你不要说。

我会说。

你可以再说一遍。

告诉我关于这件事吧。

但事实上，这四句话的真正意思与字面意思可不一样，有的甚至是大不一样！

我们来看实际运用了解这四句话的真正含义：

“You don’t say.”的意思绝不是叫别人不要说话！

A: I went to London last week, and that’s where I met myex-boyfriend!

我上周去了伦敦，在那儿遇到了我的前男友！

B: You don’t say!

真的吗？太巧了吧。

【“You don’t say.”的第一种用法，用来表示对对方所说的话的惊讶。】

A: I think I'm beginning to put on a little weight.

我觉得我有点长胖了。

B: You don't say.

可不是嘛！

【“You don’t say.”的第二种用法，当别人讲了一件大家都看得出来的事，用这句话表示讽刺。】

“I’ll say.”是用来表示同意对方所说的话：

A: His performance last night was really impressive!

他昨晚的表演真让人印象深刻！

B: I’ll say!

我也觉得！

“You can say that again.”也是用于表达同意：

A: What a relief that Jim didn’t get hurt.

吉姆没受伤真的让人放心了下来。

B: You can say that again!

没错！

“Tell me about it.”用于在别人说了你已经知道的事、而你也有同感时，表达“就是嘛”之意，如果加上不同的语气，也可以表达类似“You don’t say.”的第二种用法的讽刺意味，即“这还用你说嘛”之意。

A: This thing is kind of hard to use.

这东西有点难用。

B: Tell me about it! It took me three hours just to turn it onthe other day.

就是嘛。有一天我花了三小时才把它打开。

I know. I’m so glad I don’t look like that. Tell me about it.
