Do you want any meat today, Mrs. Bird?
Yes, please.
This lamb's very good.
I like lamb, but my husband doesn’t.
What about some steak? This is a nice piece.
Give me that piece please.
And a pound of mince, too.
Do you want a chicken, Mrs. Bird? They're very nice.
No, thank you.
My husband likes steak, but he doesn't like chicken.
To tell you the truth, Mrs. Bird, I don't like chicken either!

二、每课一句
I like lamb, but my husband doesn't.
本课继续学习一般现在时表喜好的用法，只是本课侧重的是主语为第三人称时的用法，即：
He/She/It/They like/want ...
当然，第三人称也可以是名词作主语。如：
He likes bananas.
The dog wants some water.
They like lamb.
注意其否定用法为：
He/She/It/They does/do not like/want...
此时，要注意如果like/want后面的宾语中还有some的话，一般要改为any。如：
He does not like bananas.
The dog does not want any water.
They do not like lamb.
其一般疑问句的用法为：
Does/Do he/she/it/they like/want...?
如：
- Does he like bananas? - Yes, he does. / No, he doesn't.
- Do they like lamb? - Yes, they do. / No, they don't.
其特殊疑问句的用法为：
特殊疑问词+do/does he/she/it/they like/want...?
如：
What does he like?
How much water does the dog want?

To tell you the truth, Mrs. Bird, I don't like chicken either!
注意句中的to tell you the truth是固定短语，表示“说实话；坦白说”。
在使用该短语时，要注意两点：
一是该短语是用来修饰整个句子的，所以要用逗号和后面的句子隔开；
二是要注意不能省略to，否则这个短语就变成祈使句“tell you the truth”了。
此外，该短语也可以简化为：
To the truth
如：
To tell the truth, I don't really like her.
说实话，我并不喜欢她。
