Today we still stay with the map skills, as we have talked in the periods, we will have the first question with a map scaled at 1:25000 or 1:50000。
Because the MAP makes up 1/3 in paper2.
The first question may ask you to give four figures (area) or six figures (point).
Then it moves to directions with a 16-point compass in either compass points (NW) or compass bearings (that is why you need a procrator).
Then you may need to use your ruler to measure the distances, either for the real size of an airstrip (translate the scale) or for the gradient.
After that, we will go with contour reading and cross section, which is our next week task.
If you can't live without studying, do find sometime to go with the river landscapes(2.2), costal landforms(2.3), settlement( both 1.4 rural and 1.5urban).
Why? Because the map reading skills highly vauled your appreciation in drawing inference about physical and human landscape from map evidence.
And your answer should be in geographical terms with simple adjectives to show the ridge or flood plain's nature, such as flat or deeply cut.
See you next Tuesday,
have fun with your chosen question!
Oh, by the way, I did say we will have a mock test in April.
It is a mock for Paper1 in 1h45min.
So if you want to have the combination of real past paper,
do feel free to tell me if you need some.
