当我们要表达强烈的情绪情感时，如果通过排比句式的运用，可以达到很好的效果。
让我们先来看看由Lewis Arnold执导、美国AMC电视台和英国Channel 4频道联合制作、嘉玛·陈、 科林·摩根等主演的科幻迷你剧《真实的人类》（Humans）中的片段：
在该片段中，合成人女主Niska说了这么一段话：
(- What are you feeling right now?)
- Boredom at that question. Anger at the people that would destroy us. Hope for others like me and our future. Impatience at being here. And irritation at you.
合成人Niska在逃离妓院之后，一直在逃亡中，当在科学家抱着怀疑的态度问到她对现状的感受时，Niska压抑已久的情绪瞬间爆发，所以一下子说出了这一连串的排比句式，听来虽然语气平缓，却又字字铿锵，掷地有声：
Boredom at ...
Anger at ...
Hope for ...
Impatience at ...
Irritation at ...
英语中的排比句（Parallelism），也叫对句法或平行结构构造，是由两个或多个结构相同或相似、内容相关或相合的短语、句子或段落排列在一起，用来加强语势、强调内容、强化情感的修辞句式或段落。这种行文往往在结构上组合得整齐匀称，在节奏上读起来铿锵有力，颇具韵律色彩。
在很多文学作品，尤其是演讲文稿中，往往会借助排比的结构，来强化突出目标情绪或情感。比如：
1、短语排比
Cousins by chance; friends by choice.
一世姐妹，一生挚友。
2、句式排比
Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.
一次被骗，其错在人；再次被骗，其错在己。
3、段落排比
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up, live up to the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident; that all men are created equal.”
I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave-owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.
I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.
I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color if their skin but by the content of their character.
我梦想有一天，这个国家会站立起来，真正实现其信条的真谛：“我们认为这些真理是不言而喻的；人人生而平等。”
我梦想有一天，在佐治亚的红山上，昔日奴隶的儿子将能够和昔日奴隶主的儿子坐在一起，共叙兄弟情谊。
我梦想有一天，甚至连密西西比州这个正义匿迹，压迫成风，如同沙漠般的地方，也将变成自由和正义的绿洲。
我梦想有一天，我的四个孩子将在一个不是以他们的肤色，而是以他们的品格优劣来评判他们的国度里生活。
